Mercoledi’ scorso sono stato al concerto di Damien Rice nella splendida cornice di Piazza Castello a Ferrara.

Serata particolare… a tratti un po’ fredda come la sensazione di qualcosa che non andava nel comportamento di Damien verso il pubblico… a tratti pero’ anche magica… come la sua voce che inizia a scaldarti da dentro… come quella stella cadente che ha sorpreso un po’ tutti e reso l’atmosfera ancora piu’ suggestiva.

Accidental Babies

and we ignored our others’ happy plans

our bodies moved and hardened
hurting parts of your garden
with no room for a pardon

and my foot in the appropriate place…
we used cushions to cover happy glands
and the mild issue of our disgrace…
our minds pressed and guarded
while our flesh disregarded
the lack of space for the light-hearted
in the boom that beats our drum…

i know sometimes you wanna die
but do you really feel alive without me?
if so, be free…
if not leave him for me
before one of us has
accidental babies
